ALCS 6th Grade Qualifies for National Math Competition

Mathematics is an exciting thing!

During the week of April 22, 2024, nine students from Alta Loma Christian School competed live and virtually against 2,000 other students across the country in ACSI's Divisional Math Olympics in Computation and Reasoning. These nine students advanced to the Divisional competition by achieving an 85%+ score at the previous regional competition, which was held in February at Desert Christian Academy in Victorville, CA.

ALCS math department chair, Mrs. Jasmine Royse, received the results Tuesday and was excited to announce that sixth grade student Jimmy D. qualified for the National Competition!

Mrs. Royse shared the wonderful news in chapel on Wednesday morning while recognizing all our divisional
Olympians, to the loud and long applause of students, staff members, and parents alike.

Jimmy is competing online on Wednesday, April 29 at the national (final) level, so please pray for him as he prepares for this exceptional opportunity and challenge!
